Race of Modeler, Part 3

Race of Modeler, Part 3

I have this thing about Imports, more specifically, ricers.. i really dont like them. So, i decided i'd beat them at thier own game early last summer, and built a Ford Probe with a turbo'd VTec. It made maybe 350 horsepower, and did a pretty good job at putting a little American respect into a few of the local ricers. Compared to some of my other rides, though, it was a real pig. In light of all this, i was cruising the local bigger city looking for fresh victims. I was sitting at a stop light when i heard a throaty rumble, and along side me pulled a brand spanking new Mustang, i mean this thing was dealer fresh. I recognized the driver as the only kid that had beat me in a race. As you may or may not recall, i raced "captainkirk" last spring with blown '72 Impala, and got beat by his rag-top Monte after forgetting to change out the spent N2O bottle. Now, common sense mandated that i let him go: his mustang was probably putting down somewhere aroung 700hp, and i had all of maybe 350.. but, i may have about 1000lbs on him in weight... I cautiously blurped the exhaust on the Probe. The 'Stang answered with a frightening rumble. I should have backed down right then and there. The light abruptly changed.. I gunned it.. and pulled away! But my enthusiasm didnt last long. As soon as he hit second, i didn't have a prayer. At half track, he had 5 car-lengths on me. He actually made it through the next light on green, well into triple digits. I got stopped by the redlight, and could only watch as the white 'Stang disapeared. It was time for the big guns... Thanks to contributors, the road and 'Stang are captiankirks, the Probe is mentioned elsewhere. #1993 #1994 #1995 #1996 #1997 #2014 #2015 #car #drag #ford #mustang #nitro #probe #race #racer #racing #street
