Avro Canada CF-100 Mk1 Prototype

Avro Canada CF-100 Mk1 Prototype

OneWarmLine
The CF-100 was designed and produced by A.V. Roe Canada Ltd. as a high speed, high altitude all weather interceptor to combat Soviet bombers in the B-29 class. In its prime it was perhaps the best interceptor The West had at it's disposal. Its range, all weather capabilities, and high rate of climb made it perfect to combat the Soviet nuclear threat over the North Pole. The CF-100 continued in service with the Royal Canadian Air Force for 29 between 1952 and its retirement in 1981 with some 692 airframes being produced in this time. Depicted here is the pre-production CF-100 Mk1 prototype, 18101 which first flew on January 19,1950 using two Rolls-Royce Avon engines. This CF-100 is depicted as it would have looked during it's early flights in 1950. Note: As this is my first model, I would highly appreciate any feedback or questions.
