A European made, vintage 1960s through 1970s mechanical cash register manufactured by Sweda, sometimes Monroe Sweda, known as the model 46. This classic was one of the most popular cash registers used by retailers before the advent of computers. Known for its smooth operation and rugged, stainless steel durability it was used widely in McDonald's restaurants operating in Canada and the US through the mid-80s.
The configuration of the keyboard layout was standard with the buttons on the extreme left side of the panel being added (or subtracted) depending on the retailer's specific requirements. The rows of black and white keys had currency denominations on them depending on their country of use.
The dimensions of this model are estimated from those I researched: 24 cm in depth and 37 cm in height for the register itself. The till drawer is also estimated.
