University of Iowa Art Building

University of Iowa Art Building

KarmaSchulz
Model of the original art building, built in 1936. Designed by George Horner. This building part of a master plan for the University's art campus, on a section of low-lying land near the Iowa river. Later buildings would include the Theater Building, The University of Iowa Art Museum, and Hancher Auditorium. In the flood of 2008, the Art building was flooded, and sustained heavy water damage. As part of an agreement with FEMA, the original 1936 structure (modeled) was restored, while several additions were demolished. #Art_Building #Old_Gold #University_of_Iowa
