N09088 made its first appearance with Decknar in 1986, she was our first MD88 to enter the Lego Airlines fleet. Over 115 MD88's served with Lego Airlines. By the time Lego and Decknar merged, 33 of these MD88's remained. All except five were among the last 100 delivered to the airline. The Orgional 5, N71788, N32188, N38388, N32488, and N09088 all remained in active service. 1 month ago on Feburary 14th 2014, the official retirement of MD88 came to the airline. Every friday for the past four weeks one of the five origionals has been retired from service. Now after four of the five have been retired, N09088 is all that remains. The aircraft will be making one final flight this Friday Afternoon. Denver to JFK. And for its retirement N09088 is the only MD88 to be painted into the 2013 Billboard livery. As well as the titles beneath the Decknar titles "Thank You MD88 for 28 Great Years!" Where added. We will miss these planes but we know they have a good future ahead of them. V2 Airlines has purchased 24 of the 33 aircraft that had been retired from the fleet. N09088 will be amung the aircraft flown to Cleveland after being stripped of the anything Decknar. We hope that 090 has a great future over at V2 and we hope to see this old girl in the skies along side the Decknar fleet again someday. Thanks to AirbusA330 and AN777 for the MD80 template.
