This car was built in 1965 for Pope Paul VI's visit to the United States. It is based on Lehmann-Peterson's initial prototype, built in two weeks. The wheelbase is stretched to a 160" (4064 mm), almost 21 feet (6400 mm). The car has a custom interior, with a raising special chair for the pope to sit in. The most visible attribute is the removable convertible roof, transparent rear landaulet roof and roof-mounted windshield to protect the Pope. It was used for the pope's visit to Bogota (Colombia) in 1968 and later for the Apollo astronauts (including Apollo 11 and Neil Armstrong) in parades in Chicago. Paul B made the original car, and I used the already created limousine version, shortened, fxed the interior, and added the landau roof and roof details. It was sold by Bonhams in 2011 for $220,000 US. #1960s #American #auto #car #cars #classic #limo #Lincoln #mobile #papal #vintage
