NFPA 14 Standpipe and hose systems

Duran E.
Where standpipe system is installed in a building with an NFPA 13R system, the water supply only needs to meet the standpipe demand. The sprinkler system demand is not required to be added to the standpipe demand. Check valves are requiere on fire department connections for manual dry standpipe system. Many people try to leave the check valve out of these connections. But that is terrible mistake that makes it it difficult for firefighters to disconnect hose after using the manual dry standpipe systems Valves shal be provided to allow of standpipe without interrupting the supplu toe other stanpipes from the same source of supply. Provide standpipe isolation valves supervised by the alarm system as require per NFPA 14. Locate standpipe valves within stairwells and exposed, unless an alternative location has been approved by AHJ. Fire deparment connections shall be located and arranged so that hose line can be attached to the inlets witout interference from nearby objects, including buildings fences, posts, lanscaping, vechicles, or other fire deparment connections. Hose connections an hose stations shal be unobstructed and shall be located not less then 3ft (0,9 m) or more then 5 ft (1,5m) above the floor. #brandblusinstallatie #brandweer #deluge #FDC #fire #itfahiye #protection #sprinkler #sprinklerinstallatie #standpipe
