The Torque Gauntlet

The Torque Gauntlet

Talwick
A concept design I had for a new kind of Gauntlet. Just for a short story I was writing. Not quite finished, but I got the overall idea down. Most gauntlets have the choice of either being flexible yet non-protective, or protective yet inflexible. This design is meant to give a good all-rounder, with the intent for tough fabric or leather to be worn underneath. "As strong as an metal gauntlet, with the flexibility, unrestricted movement, and lightweight build of hide or fabric. Crafted with the toughest hides and leathers for the pads and straps, and with warm forged spring steel for the ricochet bands. This gauntlet literally allows for hand to sword combat, blocking with the wrist and forearm, and attacking with the reinforced tip. The bands themselves are finely grooved to dull impacting blades and prevent them from sliding; they can also be used as a file to sharpen blades if used correctly. Plus on the inner side, there are small pouches where flint, lock-picks, coins, parchment and other small things may be kept. "The word 'Torque' is defined as a rotating or twisting force... ...so watch out for this uppercut"
