Bolshoy Ice Dome (2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi)

Sebastian S.
The Bolshoy Ice Dome (in Russian: Большой Ледовый дворец Большой) is a description of a 12,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Sochi, Russia that is currently in the construction stages. "Bolshoy" literally means "Major", hence the correct English name for the Bolshoi Ice Palace would be the "Major Ice Palace". It is due to be open in 2012. After it is completed, it will host some of the ice hockey events at the 2014 Winter Olympics along with Shayba Arena. The venues will be located 300 m apart. It will cost $180.1 million to build the venue, including the temporary works for the Olympics. After the Olympics, it will serve as a sports arena and concert venue. #2014_Winter_Olympics #2014_Winter_Olympics_in_Sochi #Bolshoy_Ice_Dome #Russia #Sochi #XXII_Olympic_Winter_Games #Большой_Ледовый_дворец_Большой
