Description
The Virtual Boy is a 32-bit table-top 3D video game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo. It was marketed as the first "portable" video game console capable of displaying "true 3D graphics" out of the box. Released July 21, 1995 in Japan and August 16, 1995 in North America Discontinued March 2, 1996. The Virtual Boy is Nintendo's second lowest selling platform after the 64DD. The Virtual Boy failed failed becuase of its high price, the discomfort caused by play, and a poorly handled marketing campaign. Only 19 Virtual Boy games were released in Japan and 14 were released in North America. Because Nintendo only shipped 1.26m Virtual Boy units worldwide, it is considered a valuable collector's item #game_system #nintendo #video_games #virtual_boy #VR
