Flag of Artigas

Hermes
The flag of Artigas is one of the national symbols of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay; was declared as such by a decree of 18 February 1952. By law, it must have the same proportions as the flag of Uruguay. The flag of Artigas identifies and honors the figure of the "Prócer" of the Fatherland, José Gervasio Artigas. It consists of three horizontal fringes of the same width, with the upper and lower parts in blue and the central one in white. They are crossed diagonally by a red band of equal width of the front ones, which starts from the upper corner near the rod and ends in the lower opposite corner. #flag #Artigas #Uruguay
