New School Classroom B

My design of the classroom buildings in the new school shows sustainability in several ways. The layout of the building in it self is sustainable. Each building will be 3 stories tall and will have a basement; each floor will have 2 classrooms on it. This means that very few of these buildings will have to be built and more area can be set aside for green space and other buildings. Also each floor (except the basement, although there is a small space at the bottom of the stairs down) has a balcony in front of it. Which can be used as a place for kids to hang out or possibly a place for people to eat lunch. Which means that the cafeteria will not have to be built big enough to hold all the students at school. In each class there will be huge windows to allow a large amount of light into the rooms, so hopefully no or very little artificial light will be needed. And any light needed could be provide by solar panels (not in my design but could be easily added) that could be placed on the roof. This also means that classes will not be bothered by power outages. Another good thing about the large windows is that students work better with natural light. Then again looking out the window might distract the students. There are also large storage areas for the teachers in the corner of the classes and the lighting in these storage rooms can be provided by solar panels. By Caleb Lashway #ASA #Classroom
