The Strathmore

I happened to run across "House and Yard 1930" (by Joe, 3DWH) and thought it might be nice to go in and furnish it, but discovered it had no interior. I was a little disappointed until I read Joe's comments on the house, went to the website he mentioned and found a house I wanted to try to build. I've tried several times to build houses that were my own creations - but invariably, something would go wrong, I would be unable to fix it and would give up. This the first house I've built that I didn't break (LOL!!)...though I did run into serious trouble with the roof. I had to trash the first attempt and try at the roof again. It's not perfect (dunno much about making roofs), but it's not too bad. I made a few changes to the house because there were some things I could not figure out, but was bound and determined to finish it. The outside doesn't have much "curb appeal," but the inside is pretty nice. Though there are many here who no doubt could build this house much better than I, and with a much smaller file size, I'm pretty proud of it's 11.1MB - I've come quite a long way from the 50MB monster, "House with a Balcony." I'm getting better at remembering to purge, and this time even ran CleanUp3, but it really didn't make much difference in the file size. Later, I may go in and furnish this house... but for now, I think I'll just revel in this accomplishement! 1935 Sears Honor-Bilt Home - The Strathmore CREDITS: "Victorian door knob," Katie M (3DWH) "More Accurate Toilet," Doube E (3DWH) "Back to Wall Pan with seat," superlateral (3DWH) "Boardwalk Faucet," Oralia M.
