The temple of Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy is said to have been centuries old. The hill, Ananthagiri, on which the temple is located is named after the diety, Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy (Lord Vishnu). This place is said to have been the place of origin for the river Musi (originally called Muchukunda). The temple is very popular locally and attracts a lot of devotees and tourists from surrounding cities and towns. The Anantha Giri Temple is located ouside Vikarabad in Andhra Pradesh, India.
