My design of a modern aircraft carrier, with a revolutionary propulsion and stearing system. Encorporates a very wide flight deck, can support the simultaneous launch of two E-2 Hawkeye AWACS on the main aircraft launch catapults. There are 5 double helix, coaxially mounted propellers, one mounted in the bow, 4 in the stern. An extra navigation rudder is located in the front of the aircraft carrier as well for increased turning ability. Two dorsal fins are located on the under hull of the ship to keep the ship level when making fast turns. Instead of the standard 3-4 arrestor hooks, this ACC1 incorporates 6 for extra assurance of safer landings. Also in the rear of the ship is a sea-lift loading ramp, for embarking and dis-embarking of amphibious landing craft for beach assaults. The line around the boat represents the water line, the little box near the bow of the boat is a rep. of an average person.
Work in progress, modern defensive/offensive systems. This carrier will be albe to operate independantly of the fleet and will not need cruiser escorts. Similar to the Russians design of the Admiral Kuznetsov. Aircraft catapult system is also a work in progress, considering alternatives to a steam powered system (JATO possibly, saves room and weight). Lastly I still need to incorporate the elevators, I'm planning on just having three, two starboard behind the island; the other one will be somwhere midway on the port side of the ship.
