This was one of the original buildings when SketchUp City was founded in 1938 as a village. It was the tallest building until Universal Computers HQ was built. It was 157.55 m high. Construction of SketchUp City started in 1929, however, it was delayed by the Great Depression. The rise of the skyscrapers in SketchUp City started. In 1981 this clock tower was closed after a tropical storm that blew away its spire, and was re-opened 2 years later. However, the damage to the spire was irreversible. In 2005, the clock tower was reinforced in preparation for Hurricane Katrina. However, only a few windows were broken in the clock tower. However, the landfall from Katrina ruined the brick structure, and the whole clock tower was weakening. 6 years later in 2011, it still standed, but the bricks had weakened to the point where it can no longer support the whole weight. It needed to be demolished. Scientists predicted that it only has 6 months to stand, yet it still stands now. However, huge pieces were falling from the top first and it needed immediate demolition. The demolition made space for a new Clock Tower, which is currently under construction.
