The University of Colorado at Boulder was funded in 1876. Its location at the foot of the Flatirons distinctive Tuscan architecture, CU-Boulder is often called "one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation." In 1917 the university underwent an major expansion, Charles Z. Klauder, the head architect of the firm hired to do the construction suggested the use of Italian Rural Architecture. A style that was developed in the mountains of northern Italy. This style of rough, textured sandstone walls and sloping, multi-leveled Spanish Tiled roofs. The Mathmatics Building was built in 1992 by Fentress and Bradburn Artchitects of Denver. Model created by Geoffrey Berlin.
