This farmhouse in eastern West Virginia has been in the family since it was built. The original house, the left side of this house (when facing the double porch), was a log cabin built in 1783, the year the Treaty of Paris was signed and the Revolutionary War ended. The house was expanded probably in the mid 1800s, more than doubling its size.
This rendering is to visualize some remodeling ideas I have. The back screened porch, the second- and third-story dormers, and the raised-pitch roof with side windows are some of the design ideas I have. The back porch is currently a bathroom, but was originally a porch. I propose merging the kitchen and dinette, moving the bathroom over, and reverting the old bathroom to a porch.
