Flag of Honduras

Hermes
The flag of Honduras was adopted on 16 February 1866, but the current version is the result of a slight modification in 1949. The design is based on the flag of the United States of Central America, with Central American colors. The flag consists of three horizontal white and blue bands of equal size; according to tradition, the blue side bands represent the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. The five five-pointed stars represent the nations of the United Provinces (Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Salvador) and the hope of rebuilding the union. The waving flag is used as a flag of convenience. #flag #Honduras
