Description
The Riverside Park Hotel has stood in the midtown area of the fictional city of Windsor, Oregon since 1923. Before its conversion to apartments in 1939, it was a magnificent, upscale art deco hotel, and it had many well-to-do guests stay at it. In 1939, the hotel's elevator shaft caught fire and was destroyed, killing 20 people in the elevators and the ensuing chaos. The hotel reopened after a restoration in 1948. It was renovated in the early 1970s and restored in the mid-1990s, but after an earthquake in 2001, the hotel was closed due to damage. It sits empty now, and is said to be haunted by those who died there by suicide and tragedy many years before. It is based on the Tower of Terror rides at Disney's California Adventure and Disneyland Paris. #1920s #1923 #1930s #1939 #1948 #1971 #1994 #1997 #Abandoned #Angeles #Art #Awning #Balcony #Ballroom #Beautiful #Boarded #Crash #Deadly #Deaths #Deck #Deco #Economic #Elevator #Empty #Fictional #Fire #Flagship #Ghosts #Grand #Haunted #Hollywood #Hotel #Lobby #Lodging #Los #Lot #Lounge #Midtown #New #Of #Old #Park #Parking #Renovated #Restaurant #Restored #River #Riverbend #Riverside #Rooftop #Showplace #Stunning #Suicide #Terror #Tower #Tragic #Up #Upscale #Urbanism #Victim #Victims #WA #Walkway #Washington #Western #Windsor
