The Pozzo di San Patrizio ("St. Patrick's Well") is a historic well in Orvieto, Umbria, central Italy. It was built by architect-engineer Antonio da Sangallo the Younger of Orvieto, between 1527 and 1537, at the behest of Pope Clement VII and the well was completed in 1537 during the papacy of Pope Paul III. Mules carried empty and full water vessels along two separated spiral ramps. The cylindrical well is 53.15 metres deep with a base diameter of 13 metres. There are 248 steps and 70 windows provide illumination. - - - - - - - NOTES ON THE MODEL: this model contains Dynamic Components (DC's) - after activating the scene "Doors" the entrance and exit doors can be opened using the DC interaction tool (click on the outer wall) - also the exit gate can be rotated by clicking on it.
