V2 Airlines (1957 [FICTIONAL]) - Northwest NW-57A-2 Jetliner

Description
V2 purchased two Northwest Jetliners in 1957 when it first started. At that time, the majority of their fleet were second hand Martin 4-0-4 aircraft from Central Air Lines. This particular plane, N5740, was destroyed while taxiing at Atlanta, Georgia in 1965 by extreme racists. Three years later, a Central Air Lines DC-6B operating as Flight 6 was bombed by the KKK and crashed into downtown Montgomery killing all on board along with 50 on the ground. Both incidents caused Central and V2 do discontinue all flights to the Southern states until the early 1970s. V2 returned in 1971, while Central returned in 1973. The surviving Jetliner was retired in the late 1960s. Thanks to WIlliamT for the landing gear. #Airlines #N5740 #Northwest #NW57 #NW57AJetliner #V2
