Base model by Airbus A330 and AN777.
REDjet was a low cost carrier started in Barbados by Irishman Ian Burns with assistance from local businessmen and the Government of Barbados in May 2011 linking the home port of Bridgetown with Georgetown Guyana, Kingston Jamaica and Port of Spain Trinidad. The base fare one way was BB$9.99. Unfortunately in March 2012 the airline ceased to operate. Airline officials said they have not been able to win a share of government subsidies enjoyed by other carriers in the region. “We have seen other carriers drastically cut their fares in an effort to shut down REDjet and return to high fares and business as usual with no regard to the negative impact on travelers."
They operated 2 MD82s and 1 MD83 during their brief period of operation.
Their direct competion was Leeward Islands Air Transport (LIAT) and Caribbean Airlines.
