University of Southern Mississippi - Administration Building

Jack Clark - JC3D Studio
The Aubrey K. Lucas Administration Building, commonly known as "The Dome", is probably the most recognizable building on campus. The Administration Building, housing the office of the University president, was completed in 1930, and among the first buildings on campus. The Administration Building was in the original design of the campus proposed by prominent architect R. H. Hunt of Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1910. Construction of the building began in 1929 by Oden and Glenn Contractors of Hattiesburg at a cost of $141,000 and was completed in time for occupancy during the university’s 1930 summer session. #dome #education #golden_eagles #Hattiesburg #icon #institution_of_higher_learning #mississippi #university #USM
