Mt Chappell Island is a well kown island of the south west coast of Flinders Island in the Bass Strait. The Island is dominated by Mt Chappell and the smaller "Little Mount" on its southern flank. The island can be clearly seen from Flinders Island and is a major landmark for the region. The island is and its off-shore rocky islets are part of the Badger island group which includes the low flat badger Island and Goose Island which is known for its Lighthouse and abandoned tramway (these islands are not included in the model). Mt Chappell Island is home to many seabirds which nest there seasonaly incuding the Short Tailed Shearwater or Muttonbird. Because of the continual supply of seabirds, the island is heavilly populated with Black Tiger Snakes (many locals have been bitten when trying to kill the helpless muttonbird chicks). This model contains roughly 3000 polygons and took roughly 1 week to complete with an average of 1.5 hours of work a day.
