This design was used on new Meijer stores built between 1996 and 1997. This model includes a partially-furnished interior with provisions for shelf locations. This design, however, was rather short-lived, as only seven different stores were ever built in this design, each 230,000 square feet in size:
-Southport Road, Indianapolis, Indiana (store 134, opened March 5, 1996)
-West Chester, Ohio (store 147, opened May 7, 1996)
-Eastgate Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio (store 148, opened May 7, 1996)
-Florence, Kentucky (store 151, opened August 6, 1996 as the first Meijer store in the state of Kentucky)
-Loveland, Ohio (store 150, opened August 6, 1996)
-Wixom, Michigan (store 122, opened August 20, 1996)
-Michigan City, Indiana (store 149, opened August 5, 1997)
In addition, the Sterling Heights, Michigan store (store 55, opened August 5, 1986) was remodeled with the exterior of this design. The Fairfield, Ohio store (store 159, opened August 20, 1996) combined the interior of this design with the exterior design later used between 1997 and 2000.
Each store in this design opened with three restaurants (Wonton's, Fred's American Grill and Pizza Pan) in a corner of the grocery section and a portrait studio in a corner between the general merchandise entrance and the garden center. All of these were subsequently removed as each of the seven stores were remodeled in the 2000's through 2010's. They were also built with two alcove spaces near the general merchandise entrance, one of which originally housed a shoe-repair business when these stores opened and the other of which usually contained a bank. They also contained a small space protruding into the back wall next to the corridor dividing the grocery and general merchandise sections which varied between each store, but would house things like the bottle return area or a space for selling beverages.
Today, no examples of Meijer stores of this design with their original interiors exist, as all in this design have been remodeled at one point.
NOTE: This model is a right-hand layout. If the design requires a left-hand store, flip this model and then re-flip the signage.
Credit is given to the people whose models I've used in this model. Special thanks to tamias6, Cordelle and Paulwall for certain components. Feel free to use this in your models, but please do not re-upload this and claim that you made it, that model will be reported to Trimble if it is done.
