Computer Controlled Facade Panels

Computer Controlled Facade Panels

fred bartels
An experiment with computer controlled facade panels. A single panel with two simplified joints can be seen in the foreground. This is a component that when altered will change the matching components on the building facade. In this experiment all the panels move together but in a real building each panel could be individually controlled via a computer program. Movement of the panels could be programmed so as to create dynamic, flowing, undulating, organic, constantly changing building facades. (To play with the building panels' orientations open the component in the foreground and rotate on the center points of the closer square.) #computer #controlled #dynamic #facade #flowing #panels #undulating
