Globidens dakotensis

Globidens dakotensis

Birdman
The 12' long Globidens is a far cry from the other mosasaurs. While most of the marine lizards evolved to actively hunt prey, Globidens went for a much slower lifestyle, moving along the rocky coast, eating shellfish. Where most mosasaurs had flesh-ripping spikes for teeth, Globidens had what look like over-sized musket balls. These aided in crushing rock hard shells to get the mulloscs inside.
