McDonalds Restaurant

Creating Hartford
The current White River Junction McDonalds Restaurant is located on 45 Beswick Drive, directly off Route 5 and near Interstate 91. Prior to the construction of McDonalds, two restaurants were located in the area. These included “Lums Restaurant,” as well as the “Fox and Hound,” which came before the former. The property was originally owned by the Miller Automotive Company, but was later purchased by Tamarack Services in 2001. In 1994, the McDonalds Corporation acquired the rights to build on the plot of land. Construction lasted between 1995 and 1997. Originally, McDonalds offered several unique features, such as an outside patio and shrubbery with an irrigation system. The building was smaller than a typical McDonalds restaurant, with the purpose of “streamlining” the business for more efficiency. Today, McDonalds still stands, equipped with a drive-thru as well as classics such as the Big Mac and the unforgettable McGriddle. There is no longer an outside patio and there appears to be no unique irrigation system as mentioned previously.
