Sunken Glass Shelter

Design It Shelter Competition
Designed by Joseph Sandy From: Petaluma, United States Shelter location: United States Date Accepted: August 25, 2009 Sunken three feet, the shelter is low and unobtrusive. The glass enclosure allows you to stay connected to your surroundings, while an enclosed sleeping den provides privacy. To further the interior-exterior connection, the den’s green roof continues inside, while the desk is on the same plane as the exterior ledge. Above, the sunscreen moderates temperature by letting in the winter sun and blocking out the summer sun.
