v3 Geodesic Dome CV-hubs

v3 Geodesic Dome CV-hubs

Toni K.
Most of bolts'n'nuts removed for better performance. Complete hubs of each type are preserved on the top. Beams are 40x60 wide (and between 2.3 to 2.8m, for a dome with radius=7m) Hubs are designed to be cut only from the most standard steel (or other material) profile, and use a CV-joints to allow adjustment of any needed angle - between struts of a single hub, or dihedral angles. The hubs can be kept loose until dome construction is complete to allow for easy adjustment. This adjustment would happen automatically if the struts are cut to correct lengths. Same design hubs can be used for any frequency geo-dome. It's recommended (though not mandatory) to drill the bolt-holes in the plates to about the correct angles for the respective hub, otherwise while the angle will adjust, there would be slight increase of the length of such struts that join at an angle to the CV-joint-peg
