Subwoofer motor assembly

Subwoofer motor assembly

NICKLLIE
Description
This is one beastly motor. I based it off of the Fosgate Punch's assembly. The voice coil is a bit smaller so it can go out of the magnetic field. When the voice coil goes out of the magnetic gap it can become unlinear. This issue can be fixed with a bigger coil or maybe a stiffer spider. Too stiff of a spider would make it work to hard and make too much heat. Too much heat is obviously bad for anything with a coil of wire. Too much heat is what makes a subwoofer burn. Making a blown subwoofer, which does not equal a happy owner for the most part. The way to fix this is to make a complex cooling system, like the vented back plate on this motor. The bigger the port the less quickly the air will move. Too big and it wont be able to get rid of the heat. The top plate is the muscle of the motor. Too big would bring the cost up and make the coil move more, sometimes more than you want it to. Which could be bad for the woofer, over excursion is never a good thing. The magnets are able to be bad by being to big which would bring the cost of the driver up which no one wants. Hope this helps you understand the design of this motor. :) #magnet #rockford_fosgate #rockford_fosgate_power #subwoofer #subwoofer_bass #subwoofer_magnet #subwoofer_motor
