Reaver-class Star Destroyer

Reaver-class Star Destroyer

Coulden P.
The Reaver-class Star Destroyer is a type of capital ship used by the Galactic Empire, manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards. The Reaver looks outwardly similar to the much larger and better-known Imperial Star Destroyer, except it's much smaller than it, only to be only slightly longer than the Victory II-class Star Destroyer, up to 963 meters long, as well as bearing a slightly lower profile. Unlike both the Victory and the Imperial-classes, the Reaver is hangarless, which allows more room for fitting onboard weapons. Like its hangarless contemporaries the Procursator, Tector and Allegiance, the model could seemingly only rely on its own exterior ordnance, as the Reaver could not carry any starfighters or ground vehicles internally. The terraced dorsal superstructure of the Reaver was shorter, longer and a tad bit smoother compared to the Victory II. While only slightly longer than the Victory, the Reaver can carry more weapons due to its lack of any ventral hangars that allowed for increased surface area, typically carrying 10 quad heavy turbolasers (5 port, 5 starboard), as well as 25 heavy turbolasers (5 fore, 10 port, 10 starboard), 14 heavy ion cannons (5 port, 5 starboard, 4 ventral), and 6 tractor beam emitters. Because of this armament, the Reaver serves as a more aggressive alternative to the Victory II, as this particular model packs more firepower than what the Victory Star Destroyer could accommodate, only to be outgunned by the Imperial Star Destroyer. This makes the Reaver Star Destroyer a very powerful ship that will serve well in the front lines, providing fire support for the ISDs. As such, the Reaver is to the Imperial Star Destroyer, as the Bradley IFV was to the Abrams tank.
