seamark monument on Ashey Down

The Nutters Productions
The seamark used to be used for ships out at sea to determine their position and can ba seen for miles around, this monument was also on the BBC news recently as it was the latest victim of the flag of St George craze, after a giant red cross mysteriously appeared on the monument. It was unclear who painted the cross but it is thought it was done by some enthusiastic England supporters for the World Cup. Trinity House in London who look after navigational aids including the Ashey Down monument have now restored the seamark. #flag_of_St_George_craze #monument #Seamark #The_Nutters_Productions
