Mixed Used Occupancy High Rise Rough Preliminary Design

Mixed Used Occupancy High Rise Rough Preliminary Design

Chris Currie
I'm currently looking for work in the A/E/C industry and decided to learn this software by designing a high rise out of sheer boredom. This preliminary design is subject to change and is not the typical traced over picture found on this site. The high rise has 25 floors with cantilevered balcony areas. The post-tension slabs minimize the amount of members needed to hold up the floors but require bigger columns which should make cantilevering easier. The floors are 16'-4" so the stairs 24/25 typical stair rules work along with ADA and FBC. The glass shown represents glass fin walls by Innovative Structural Glass. The building will have retail spaces, offices and residences in a resort like atmosphere. The initial inspiration pieces are a sailfish, a copper CPU heat sink from a computer, Miami Beach, the ultra clear water from a secluded beach in the Cayman Islands and tropical sea life. Other design factors will be slowly revealed in the pieces I will be releasing in the warehouse. I can't release the entire building with all of the details due to file size restraints. I'm very versatile and knowledgeable in multiple disciplines. I've been working in the A/E/C industry for almost 15 years now and have an international passport so I'm ready to relocate for the right opportunity.
