If you've ever wanted to see a truly refined church, here you are. It is hard to believe, but this architecturally elegant church was built for the needs of the military, for whom barracks began to be built en masse in the cities at the end of the 19th century, and Proskuriv was no exception. A military town was also built here, and for its needs in 1904 a church of the Belgorod Regiment was built, which was dedicated to St. Nicholas the Miracle-worker. The cathedral cost the founders unbelievable at the time 44 thousand rubles. A pine iconostasis in one and a half tiers with gilding and a rich painting inside were worth such money! In Soviet times, the temple like most religious institutions was closed and used as a gym. Worship was resumed here only in 1991. That's the story…
