Barons Court Underground station

Barons Court Underground station

Simon W.
One of my personal favourite London Underground stations, Barons Court serves the District (Ealing Broadway and Richmond branches) and Piccadilly Lines, and is in Zone 2. The station building was built in 1905 and retains its original appearance, faced with pink-coloured tiles in an attractive Art Nouveau style. As the Piccadilly Line enters a tunnel a short distance to the east it serves the inner tracks whilst the District takes the outer tracks, an arrangement that as well as providing a convenient cross-platform interchange has its origins in the earliest days of the station as a co-operation between the District Railway and the Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway. Displays on the platforms illustrate the station's history. #Barons_Court #London #station #tube #underground
