The Spanish flag (also known as the Rojigualda, trad. The "red-gold"), as defined by the Spanish Constitution of 1978, is divided into three horizontal bands: red, yellow and red, with the yellow part being twice the size to the red ones. State and war flags and insignia must be loaded with the Spanish coat of arms, while the civil flag does not have it, even if the coat of arms can be placed at will. The emblem must be placed at a position corresponding to 1/3 of the length of the flag starting from the pole, and must not exceed two-fifths of the height of the flag in height.
