The Bixby house is part of the living history museum at Old Sturbridge Village, located in Sturbridge MA. The House was originaly built in Barre, Mass in 1800 by Emerson Bixby, who was a blacksmith. The home had two major addition one added in 1820 and the other in 1845. The House was purchesed by Old Sturbridge Village and moved to it's current site in 1986. It's very important to the museum because it was almost totaly unchanged since the mid- 1800's giving the currators a time capsule look into what family life was like in early America. #Bixby #Old_Sturbridge_Village #OSV
