La Caja Mágica (translated as The Magic Box), is a innovative, multifunctional, adaptable tennis complex. With mobile, reflecting roofs with the double intention of avoiding wind and rain, and also to maximize the use of sunlight. The main court has a seating capacity of 12,000 people. The two smaller courts are able to hold 3,500 and 2,000 people. It was designed by the French architect Dominique Perrault, and it was inaugurated on may 8th of 2009 with a concert of the rock singer Lenny Kravitz.
