1920's Mission Revival Gas Station, Hollywood CA

Robert B.
This is a model of a 1920's era gas station, originally inhabiting the corner of Hollywood and Sunset Blvds. in Hollywood. The unusual wall shape is based on a campanario, or bell wall which was a common feature of Spanish missions in California. I based this model on a photo from the LA Times files, posted on the Time's "Daily Mirror Blog" here: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/thedailymirror/2011/01/movieland-mystery-photo-10.html. I drew this model to guess at the dimensions for a scale model. The photo shows that the building existed in 1921; no guess on how long it lasted. #1920s #California #gas_station #Hollywood #mission_revival
