The International Labor Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations that deals with promoting social justice and internationally recognized human rights, with particular reference to those concerning work in all its aspects. It was the first specialized agency to be part of the United Nations system in 1946, but its foundation dates back to 1919 within the League of Nations. There are 187 states and the official languages ​​are English, French and Spanish. It is headquartered in Geneva. In Italy, it is present in Rome (ILO Office for Italy and San Marino) and in Turin (ILO International Training Center). The Organization is commonly known through its official acronyms: ILO in English (International Labor Organization), OIT in French (Organization internationale du travail) and in Spanish (Organización Internacional del Trabajo).
