The Rose Bowl trophy is awarded to the winner of the annual rose bowl game, that is played in Pasadena, California. The trophy is awarded two only one team that is chosen to play in the Rose Bowl Game. As of 2014 The College Football Playoff will officialy inaugurate the starting postseason with two semi-final games. The first to be played at the rose bowl. The College Football Playoff Committee selects the top four teams in the FBS to play, and place them into a four team bracket. The number 1 and number 4 team will be the two seeds that play in the rose bowl semi-final. The winner will recieve the Rose Bowl Trophy, and will move on to the College Football Playoff National Championship.
