Standley Residence - 900 12th Street

Golden GIS
From the book by Cathleen Norman, Golden Old and New - A Walking Tour Guide (Page 11) "This gabled brick dwelling was the home of Joseph Standley, an early resident for whom a lake in Arvada was named. From 1888 to 1914 this was the residence of M. I. Morrill, manager of the Golden Illuminating Company, the local electric company. Extensive remodeling in the late 1920s removed the second story, stuccoed the brick, and enclosed the front porch, alterations that lend an English flavor. This home provides a picturesque entrance to the historic district, especially in summer when the garden is in bloom."
