Polish camp architectural model

BvN
A sketchup model of the architectural model of the Polish childrens camp from 1944-1949 showcased in the Pahiatua museum. Previously the racetrack then an internment and P.O.W. camp the camp was used to house Polish refugee children from 1944 to 1949 and then was a displaced persons from WW2 camp in the years after. Most of the camp is now gone with the Fairy Grotto the only remaining in situ artefact. There are a few huts used in schools. A rich part of Pahiatua's history. The model was made in 1994 and presented to the Pahiatua and Districts Museum on 23/10/1994 and unveiled by Her Excellency the Governor-General of NZ, Dame Catherine Anne Tizard GCMG, DBE #1946 #BvN #children #Pahiatua #Poland #Polish #refugees #the_Academy #WW2
