This house runs entirely on solar energy (theoretically). The solar panels work to heat the house as well as the water. This house should be situated on or near the shore so that the prevailing winds will help ventilate the house which is designed in such a way that it would make the most of the wind. It also has gray water system that takes the leftover water from the sinks and showers and uses them to flush the toilets and water the plants. The sewage does not go into a network of pipes or a septic tank, it goes to an underground compost bin which contains worms and beneficial fungi to decompose the sewage in roughly 6-8 hours. I also see the materials in this house to be entirely FSC certified to help give the house a gold five-star rating.
