EXP 1- Studio 1 exhibits both Fiona Hall's (upper levels) and Rosalie Gascoigne's (lower levels) works. The design of the upper levels was based on the verb 'arch'. Focusing on the 2D properties of the word i created a series of arched shapes which were later 'pushed and pulled' to allign into a formation evident in the model. The lower levels are based on the noun 'signs'. These levels are all a build up from a basic 3D arrow. After creating the arrow to the dimensional specifications required to allow space for a number of levels, i began to rule out new arrows, rectangular prisms and half arrows. This combination of shapes is an attempt to attract ones attention in alternating directions, hence further accentuating certain aspects of Rasalie's work's (e.g. Directives).
