The Plantation Fencing includes various types used in the 18th and 19th centuries. Surrounding the Dickey House, the fencing is actually a rock wall. Around the Thornton house is a fancy picket fence. The remaining fencing surrounding most of the front properties and the barn and stable areas are the types often found around equestrian ranches. Not found on the Antebellum Plantation is the type of fencing that is more prevalent today—barbed wire fencing which did not become widely used until the end of the 19th century. #33485539N #84_83960W #Antebellum_Plantation #Stone_Mountain_Memorial_Park
