Like a double dresser, but with the addition of the small center drawer, this design moves away from being a true double dresser. I designed this chest as a companion to my bedside table (also available in the 3D Warehouse); same bracket feet, same large raised side panel, but stretched to hold eight drawers of which the middle and bottom rows are deep ones.
The pine material is actually from a photo of the bedside table I built. I am using a new plywood material in this model which I like and the drawers feature quarter sawn red oak and unstained pine. You will find that I like screws to back up glue joints and there are a number of screws and pocket screws used in this model. I have tried to make it accurate and detailed in every way.
The link below will take you to my website where I have a free 34 page woodworking plan loaded with SketchUp images. The plan will take you step by step through the process for building this chest of drawers. I use the SketchUp Cutlist extension to verify component sizes and to create a material cutting diagram for plywood components. The document is created using MS Publisher. For many of the images, I am merging two SketchUp images in Photoshop.
