Anomalocaris canadensis

Anomalocaris canadensis

Birdman
Rnaging at 4 feet long, Anomalocaris was the top predator of the Cambrian seas, some 530 million years ago. It riegned supreme, using it's odd looking mandibles to crush it's prey (usually the armored trilobites). In latin, Anomalocaris means "odd shrimp" and while it doesn't look like any modern creatures, this strange animal was an arthropod, just like the crustaceans, spiders, scorions, and insects of today. #animal #anomalocaris #arthropod #birdman #burgess #cambrian #canada #monster #ocean #prehistoric #sea #shale
